Zhang Xiangyu Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong (PRC Lawyer)

Ms. Zhang graduated from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Laws.  She qualified as a PRC lawyer in 2002.  She previously practised in Chongqing and Shanghai, specializing in civil and commercial laws, and intellectual property law.

In 2006, Ms. Zhang joined a Hong Kong law firm briefly after being selected by the Shanghai Bar Association for a Training Programme for Shanghai Lawyers.  In 2007-8, she was awarded a full scholarship under the UK Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme for Young Chinese Lawyers, when she attended the School of Oriental and African Studies and received training at major international law firms in London and Hong Kong.

In late 2008, she spent 3 months with a major law firm in Honolulu as the first participant of the Hawaii International ExchangeProgramme for Shanghai Lawyers.

She moved to Hong Kong in 2009 and became a Registered Foreign Lawyer (PRC Lawyer) in Hong Kong.  Since then, she has handled various major cross-border transactions, litigation and arbitration involving mainland Chinese companies.

Having practised as a PRC lawyer in both mainland China and Hong Kong, Ms Zhang has first-hand experience of cross-border legal services.  She has sound understanding of law practices and the legal culture in both mainland China and Hong Kong.  She speaks Chinese (Putonghua, Cantonese, Zhuzhou, Sichuan and Shanghai dialects) and English and can relate well with people from different cultural backgrounds as a result of her International work experiences.
